Proven quantity surveying professional with cost verification (cost assurance, cost auditing etc) experience required for a leadership role in Birmingham. This is a contract opportunity, permanent will also be considered, where you will lead a team of between 2-10 people on a large complex construction project. Your team will take the lead in the verification of costs from various suppliers working on the programme. Key Responsibilities: Leading and coordinating end-to-end cost verification activities for the project, ensuring contractor and supplier costs are accurately reviewed and validated Managing and supporting a team of cost verification professionals, ensuring quality assurance and technical leadership Engaging with project delivery teams, commercial managers, contractors, and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and drive transparency Providing clear, evidence-based recommendations based on thorough cost verification Utilising strong technical expertise within major infrastructure, rail, station, or depot environments to operate effectively across Stakeholders Job Requirements: Experience in cost management and quantity surveying within major infrastructure projects Current or previous experience in cost verification, cost auditing, and cost assurance Ideally, experience within the rail sector, but major construction project experience will also be considered Ability to lead and manage a team, providing technical leadership and ensuring the integrity of verification activities Strong communication skills to engage with various stakeholders effectively If you are an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in cost verification and looking for a challenging contract role within the rail sector, we would love to hear from you.
