Role Overview
We are currently looking to speak with experienced Site Managers for an upcoming project at a food manufacturing facility in Barnsley.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site activities, coordinating contractors, maintaining health and safety standards and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme within a live operational environment.
This role would suit a Site Manager with proven experience working on food, FMCG, manufacturing, process, industrial or clean environment construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations and contractor activity on a live manufacturing facility
- Ensure all works are completed safely, on time and in line with project requirements
- Review and manage RAMS, permits to work, inductions and site documentation
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers and client-side stakeholders
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, housekeeping and site discipline
- Ensure works are planned around live production and operational constraints
- Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates
- Monitor quality of works and ensure compliance with agreed specifications
- Manage site logistics, access, deliveries and any interface with production teams
- Support project delivery teams with planning, sequencing and issue resolution
Essential Requirements
- SMSTS certification
- Valid CSCS card
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on construction or engineering projects
- Previous experience working within a food manufacturing facility
- Strong understanding of health and safety, RAMS, permits and contractor control
- Experience working on live operational sites
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and work packages
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment
Desirable Experience
- Experience with hygiene-sensitive or clean environment construction works
- Background in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, FMCG or process manufacturing
- First Aid at Work
- Experience managing shutdowns, upgrades, refurbishments or installation projects
