Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Kerb Layer to join a busy civil engineering substation build project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation of kerbs and associated road construction works, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Install all types of kerbs, including straight, radius, transition, and dropped kerbs.
- Carry out road formation works in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
- Prepare formation levels and ensure correct line and level is maintained.
- Assist with setting out and grading activities as required.
- Work alongside groundworkers, machine operators, and site supervisors to ensure works are completed on programme.
- Carry out reinstatement and finishing works where required.
- Ensure all work is completed to the required quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and tidy working area at all times.
- Follow site health and safety procedures and company policies.
Essential Requirements
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Proven experience laying kerbs on civil engineering, highways, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience carrying out road formation works.
- Ability to work from drawings, levels, and site instructions.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements on construction sites.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Requirements
- Street Works Qualification.
- Dumper and/or Roller Ticket.
- Experience on highways or Section 278 projects.
- EUSR Safe Dig qualification.
