Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join a Tier 1 Contractor on the delivery team on a major commercial office development in Cambridge.

This role will focus on the management and delivery of CAT A internal fit-out works across multiple floor plates, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and to the highest quality standards. You will play a key role in coordinating internal construction activities, working closely with subcontractors and the wider project team to maintain efficient progress throughout the build.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the safe delivery of internal fit-out works, promoting the highest standards of health, safety and quality.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors delivering CAT A works, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
  • Oversee the installation of raised access floors, suspended ceilings, landlord finishes and associated building services.
  • Coordinate labour, materials and site activities to ensure works are sequenced effectively and delivered efficiently.
  • Monitor progress, identify potential risks and implement solutions to maintain programme milestones.
  • Work collaboratively with design, commercial and MEP teams to resolve site issues and support successful project delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and site organisation throughout the construction process.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Construction Manager delivering commercial building projects with a strong focus on internal fit-out and CAT A works.
  • Experience working on large, complex construction projects, ideally with a Tier 1 main contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, subcontractor management and internal finishes.
  • Proven ability to lead site teams and coordinate multiple work fronts within a live construction environment.
  • HNC (or equivalent) in a construction-related discipline.
  • Membership of, or working towards membership of, a recognised professional institution (MCIOB or equivalent desirable).

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering a landmark commercial development, where you'll have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the successful delivery of high-quality internal spaces.
