Lead Steel Fixer / Chargehand

Location: Holland Park, West London

Rate: £25.00 - £30.00 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

Duration: 2 - 3 weeks

Start Date: 16th July 2026

We are looking for an experienced Lead Steel Fixer / Chargehand to join a high-end residential basement refurbishment project in Holland Park.

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for leading a gang of steel fixers while working alongside them. The project involves reinforced concrete works to a deep basement excavation, so previous experience on RC and basement construction projects is essential.

• Leading and coordinating a gang of steel fixers
• Reading and interpreting structural drawings
• Understanding and working from bar bending schedules (BBS) and shape codes
• Installing reinforcement steel to specification
• Liaising with the Site Manager and Engineers
• Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety
• Working on the tools alongside the gang

• Proven experience as a Lead Steel Fixer / Chargehand
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete works
• Ability to read structural drawings and shape codes
• Previous experience on basement or RC frame projects
• Valid CSCS Card (Blue or Gold preferred)
• SSSTS would be advantageous but is not essential
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• High-end residential project in West London
