Specialist Skills That Would Be Advantageous Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable: Hanging luxury wallpaper and specialist wallcoverings Installing wide-width, vinyl or fabric-backed wallcoverings Airless or HVLP spray finishing Wood staining, oiling, varnishing and lacquering French polishing and restoration of decorative timber finishes Venetian or polished plaster Marbling, wood graining and other decorative paint effects Metallic, pearlescent and textured feature finishes Gilding or gold-leaf application Painting detailed cornices, mouldings and period features Colour matching, tinting and blending invisible repairs Applying fire-retardant or specialist protective coatings These specialist skills are desirable rather than essential. The most important requirement is the ability to produce consistently outstanding decorating work.
