About the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining the commercial team of a leading engineering and construction contractor who operate across the commercial, education, industrial, mixed-use, life science and film studio sectors plus their civils division.
They have been successfully growing in the construction industry for over 100 years becoming a Tier 1 Main Contractor. You will be joining a Senior Quantity Surveyor on a new build project in the education sector located in South East London where you will be based on site 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities of Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Include but not limited to:
- Assisting with cost planning and budgeting for construction projects
- Preparing tender documents and helping with procurement of subcontractors
- Reviewing subcontractor quotations and comparing costs
- Supporting valuations, interim payments and final accounts
- Monitoring project costs and reporting cost variations
- Assisting with contract administration including JCT contracts
Key Requirements of Assistant Quantity Surveyor
- Degree educated in a construction related subject
- Approximately 2-3 years of experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at a Main Contractor
- Live within commutable distance to South East London
