Construction Buyer - Commercial Construction, Refurbishment & Fit-out Projects

We are working on behalf of a well-established and financially secure construction business to recruit an experienced Construction Buyer to join their team.
This organisation specialises in delivering refurbishment, new build, and fit-out projects within the healthcare & education sectors, working with a strong portfolio of repeat clients across both private and public sectors. With a healthy order book and consistent growth, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and forward-thinking contractor.

The Role
As Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of multiple live projects, ensuring materials and subcontract packages are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with project requirements.
Projects typically range from 500k to 2m, forming part of a wider portfolio of schemes across healthcare and related sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure materials and subcontract packages across multiple projects
• Source, negotiate, and place orders with approved suppliers
• Work closely with site and commercial teams to forecast requirements
• Ensure procurement aligns with programme, cost, and quality expectations
• Build and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships
• Monitor market trends and manage supply chain performance
• Ensure compliance with relevant specifications and regulatory standards
• Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives

About You

• Proven experience as a Buyer within the construction sector
• Background in refurbishment, fit-out, or commercial build projects
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and supply chains
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Confident negotiator with strong communication skills
• Commercially aware with a proactive and organised approach
