Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Company:

Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor - The Role:

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established commercial team delivering a variety of new build construction projects.

You will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.

Responsibilities will include:

• Commercial management of new build construction projects from start to completion.
• Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
• Preparing, negotiating and agreeing subcontract orders.
• Cost planning, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Managing variations and change control.
• Valuing subcontractor applications and preparing payment certificates.
• Preparing and submitting client valuations.
• Managing project cash flow and commercial risk.
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
• Working closely with site and project management teams.
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
• Ensuring projects achieve commercial targets and contractual compliance.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a new build main contractor.
• Experience delivering general building projects valued above 5 million.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or another construction-related discipline.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• A stable employment history demonstrating commitment.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Currently living within a commutable distance of Gloucester.
• Experience within building construction rather than civil engineering, infrastructure or consultancy.
• A desire to build a long-term career with a successful main contractor.
