Job Description

Our client is a leading Tier 1 contractor renowned for delivering major and complex infrastructure projects across the UK. As part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a flagship National Highways scheme in Coventry.

Your new role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for key work packages on the project, supporting the delivery of complex civil engineering and infrastructure works. You will work closely with project teams, supply chain partners and senior stakeholders to manage cost, risk and value across the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Full commercial management of earthworks / groundworks packages
  • Cost planning, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Administration of NEC contracts, including change control and compensation events
  • Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
  • Assessment and agreement of valuations and final accounts
  • Risk and opportunity management to protect project margins
  • Supporting and mentoring junior commercial team members
  • Working collaboratively with operational and engineering teams to drive value


What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure
  • Strong experience in earthworks and/or groundworks packages
  • Experience working for a main contractor and/or subcontractor
  • Good knowledge of NEC contracts (Option C)
  • Confidence managing subcontract accounts, change control and cost reporting
  • The ability to operate independently and take ownership of your work
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional membership (RICS / CICES) - desirable
