Location: Lambeth, South London
Rate: 27.00 per hour + Paid Mileage
Contract: Temporary Ongoing (Minimum 6 Months)

Reactive Maintenance Supervisor

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Reactive Maintenance Supervisor to work with a leading Housing Association maintenance contractor covering Lambeth and surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for a supervisor with a background in social housing repairs and maintenance to oversee a team of operatives delivering reactive maintenance works across occupied properties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while maintaining excellent customer service levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day reactive maintenance operations across Lambeth.
  • Manage a team of operatives including Multi Traders, Carpenters, Plumbers, and Electricians.
  • Carry out site visits, quality inspections, and post-work checks.
  • Ensure repairs are completed within agreed KPIs and service level agreements.
  • Monitor productivity, performance, and attendance of operatives.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the workforce.
  • Liaise with tenants, clients, housing officers, and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Resolve issues and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Complete reports, audits, and performance updates using company systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months' experience working as a Maintenance Supervisor, Repairs Supervisor, or Trades Supervisor.
  • Experience within social housing, housing association, or local authority maintenance contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of reactive maintenance and property repairs.
  • Experience managing directly employed trades operatives and subcontractors.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a busy workload.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential).

Desirable

  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
  • Trade background (Carpentry, Plumbing, Multi Trade, Electrical, etc.).
  • Experience using repairs management systems such as DRS, Northgate, or similar.
