Project: Water / Wastewater / Water Treatment

Role Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor to support the delivery of specialist odour control and air pollution systems across multiple Thames Water sites.

This is a hands-on supervisory role, ideal for an individual with a strong mechanical background in the UK water industry and proven experience managing site teams, subcontractors, and day-to-day installation activities.

You will be responsible for overseeing site works from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works across water and wastewater treatment sites
  • Lead and manage site teams (up to 6 operatives), ensuring productivity and quality standards are met
  • Oversee the installation of Odour control systems, Ducting and ventilation systems, Fans and air handling equipment, Chemical dosing skids, Carbon vessels and associated air treatment equipment.
  • Ensure all works comply with Thames Water safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings
  • Liaise closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Client Representatives
  • Implement and monitor RAMS, ensuring safe working practices at all times
  • Track progress against programme and report on site performance
  • Identify and resolve site issues efficiently to minimise delays and disruption

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor / Site Supervisor
  • Strong background within the UK water and wastewater industry
  • Experience delivering odour control, air treatment, or pollution control systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and motivate site teams
  • Solid understanding of mechanical installation practices within regulated environments
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety requirements on water industry sites

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
  • SMSTS or SSSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • Thames Water Passport (or willingness to obtain)
  • Confined Space / EUSR Water Hygiene (advantageous)
