Rate: 250- 350 per day (depending on experience, tickets, and project type)

Role Overview
You'll be responsible for managing day-to-day operations on civils projects such as:
- Roads & highways
- Drainage & utilities
- Groundworks packages
- Section 278 works
- Infrastructure for housing or commercial developments
Typically working across multiple live sites, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee site operations, subcontractors, and direct labour
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations (RAMS, permits, inductions)
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and local authorities
- Manage site programmes and coordinate daily activities
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks
- Maintain site records (diaries, progress reports)
- Resolve on-site issues and delays
- Ensure materials and plant are available when required
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Civils Site Manager (5+ years typically expected)
- Strong background in groundworks / infrastructure / highways
- Valid:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- CSCS Card (Black or Gold preferred)
- First Aid at Work
- Knowledge of:
- CDM Regulations
- Method statements & risk assessments
- Ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously
Desirable
- Experience with major contractors or frameworks (e.g. utilities, highways)
- Temporary works coordination
- Machine tickets (advantageous, not essential)
- Good IT skills (Excel, project tracking tools)
Working Style
- Travel between sites around Manchester / North West
- Early starts typical (7:30am-5pm)
- May involve weekend work depending on programme
