The Company
A reputable and well established Design and Build fit out contractor with a strong pipeline of projects across the commercial sector is seeking an experienced No.1 Site Manager to lead a fast paced fit out project in Chelmsford.
The Role
You will take full responsibility as the No.1 Site Manager on a c. 500k fit out scheme, delivering the project from site setup through to completion within a 5 week programme. This is a hands on role requiring strong leadership, organisation and the ability to drive trades to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day to day site operations and manage the full site team
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and to the required quality standards
- Maintain and enforce health and safety procedures and site compliance
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and regular safety inspections
- Monitor programme progress and proactively address delays or issues
- Liaise with clients, consultants and internal project teams
- Manage site documentation including RAMS, permits and progress reports
- Ensure quality control and snagging processes are carried out effectively
- Oversee logistics, materials and site organisation
- Drive a clean, efficient and well run site environment
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Number 1 Site Manager on fit out projects
- Strong track record delivering fast track commercial fit outs
- SMSTS, CSCS Card and First Aid certifications essential
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong organisational and problem solving abilities
