Job Title: Estimator / Cost Engineer / Project Estimator

Currently recruiting for a permanent Estimator for a successful construction services company in Nottingham.
Job Purpose;
To create quotes, estimates and lump sum prices for various client construction / remedial work projects. Producing estimates for a wide range of products and services, liaising with suppliers to gather the best available prices for the products and services required. To research and assess information from a variety of sources in order to prepare accurate estimates.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receive and log tender information / estimating documents on to the internal system ready for pricing, create a job folder both electronic and physical.
2. Acknowledge tenders and reply to the client with a tender/ quote return date
3. 6. Create scope of works / pricing documents
4. Preparation of all documentation for bidding projects
5 Work from both drawings and bills of quantities to establish costs and methods
6. Help with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activities (procurement)
7. Download drawings and specifications from Architects, Engineers or Generals Web sites.
8. Create bill of material / BOQ (Bill of Quantities)
Competencies/Skills/Knowledge/Requirements:
1. GCSE / A Level – Excellent maths
2. BTEC HNC, HND (Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or Construction. Contract Tendering, Estimating / Buying)
3. Must be a meticulous worker / Excellent attention to detail
4. Clear confident communicator at all levels
5. 7. Ideally have a minimum of 6 months’ experience in a similar role
6. Computer literate in software such as Microsoft Outlook Express, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word. (Fulcrum, Office 365, Bolster, CAD/AutoCAD an advantage)
7. Be able to read and interpret construction &/or layout drawings
8. Knowledge of the construction industry and construction related packages
Ideal / Required Qualifications
Level 2 Diploma in Project Control, Estimating, Planning and Cost Engineering
Certificate/Diploma in Site Management Level 5 Diploma in Project Control (Cost) Level 5 Diploma in Estimating
