The role & about the client:

Our client is a well-established residential contractor delivering high-quality housing developments across the South of England. With a strong pipeline of projects including traditional build housing, low-rise apartments and mixed-use residential schemes, they are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple developments and ensure successful delivery from pre-construction through to handover.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Managing multiple residential construction projects simultaneously
  • Overseeing Site Managers to ensure programmes are met
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
  • Monitoring build quality and ensuring high standards are maintained
  • Working closely with commercial teams to manage costs and margins
  • Supporting pre-construction activities including programme input and logistics planning
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
  • Providing regular progress reports to senior management
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Project Manager within residential construction
  • Strong track record delivering housing developments for main contractors or residential developers
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple schemes
  • Good understanding of traditional build and timber frame construction methods
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications (preferred)
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
