Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Trainee/Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Wolverhampton (West Midlands)
Sector: Construction - New Build Projects

Salary: 30,000 - 40,000 + Package

Role Overview:
We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team, supporting the commercial delivery of new build construction projects across the West Midlands. This is a great opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the commercial management of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account
• Support in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
• Help manage subcontractor procurement, including enquiries, analysis, and order placement
• Assist with valuations, variations, and cost reporting
• Monitor project costs and help ensure projects are delivered within budget
• Support with contract administration and document control
• Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role or a relevant placement/year out
• Degree or working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
• Good understanding of construction processes, ideally within new build projects
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Good communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

• Experience working for a main contractor
• Knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT)
• Full UK driving licence
