Job Description

A growing and forward-thinking fire safety consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Safety Surveyor to join their expanding team.

This Fire Safety Surveyor opportunity offers the chance to work across a varied portfolio of projects throughout the UK and Ireland, supporting both new build and existing buildings.

The Fire Safety Surveyor will play a key role in delivering high-quality inspection and compliance services within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Fire Safety Surveyor's Role

The Fire Safety Surveyor will be responsible for carrying out a range of on-site inspections and assessments, ensuring buildings align with fire strategy requirements and current legislation. The Fire Safety Surveyor will work across multiple project types, contributing to the delivery of robust fire safety solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with fire strategy intent
  • Undertaking Fire Risk Assessments (Types 1-4)
  • Completing fire compartmentation surveys
  • Carrying out fire door and fire damper inspections
  • Assessing external walls and cavity barrier installations
  • Producing clear and accurate reports following site visits
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams and clients

The Fire Safety Surveyor

The ideal Fire Safety Surveyor will be technically capable, proactive, and committed to delivering high standards. The Fire Safety Surveyor will enjoy working both independently and as part of a wider team.

Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Fire Safety Surveyor
  • A Level 3 Fire Risk Assessor qualification
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational and time management abilities
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach

Desirable:

  • Fire door inspection certification
  • Membership or accreditation with organisations such as IFSM or IFE
