We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team at an established regional business near Southampton to manage schemes up to 20 million.
The contractor are an established regional business operating across Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex on negotiated and single stage bids up to 30 million but their sweetspot is the 8 to 20 million scheme and they work across education, care, student, leisure and retail as well as industrial schemes. Turnover is secured through til 2029 with other opportunities in the pipeline and have just been awarded 2no. new schemes to start in July this year.
The role of Senior QS in the business starts with the estimating and biz dev teams where you will help and advise on cost plans and use your experience to make the tender and bid as strong as possible and then upon award you will be responsible for subcontractor selection and procurement of the packages. You will then take the scheme out onto site and manage thorough til final account and do all the usual good stuff - payments, valuations, variation accounts, forecasting, CVR prep etc. You will have full autonomy on site to run the scheme within company guidelines and report directly into the Commercial Director. You will have the full support of head office systems and you will work closely with the PM and delivery team to achieve the best results for the company.
