Civil Quantity Surveyor
Bristol-based various projects
£60,000 - £70,000 + Car Allowance

Are you a Civil Quantity Surveyor looking to join a well-established company working across a range of projects in Bristol?

This is an excellent opportunity to work on projects from start to completion, taking full responsibility for the commercial delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered cost-effectively while maintaining high standards and quality for clients.

You will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple construction projects, working closely with project teams, clients, and the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial aspects of projects, including contract administration, cost management, and financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Lead commercial negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and consultants
  • Manage change control processes and variations
  • Administer NEC Option C contracts and supply chain subcontracts
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage dispute resolution where required
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Implement cost control systems and monitor project expenditure
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final accounts
  • Lead commercial discussions in project meetings and present reports to senior management
  • Support pre-construction and tender activities when required
Skills & Experience
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to review weekly and monthly programmes of work
  • Good understanding of delay and disruption programmes
  • Experience preparing monthly valuations, cost/value reports, and final accounts
  • Experience with Evolution MX or similar finance systems
  • Experience working with NEC contracts (preferred) - training can be provided
  • Experience managing subcontractor activities, variations, and final accounts
  • Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Professional membership such as RICS or CIOB (preferred)
  • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager within construction or building services
  • Experience working within occupied buildings or campus environments is advantageous
