You will play a key role in ensuring homes remain safe, compliant, and well maintained for residents. The role focuses on diagnosing building defects, managing repairs, and addressing damp and mould issues across a portfolio of residential properties.
Working closely with tenants, contractors, and internal teams, you will oversee repair works, investigate disrepair claims, and ensure high standards of property maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect and diagnose damp and mould issues within residential properties
Conduct property surveys relating to repairs and disrepair claims
Specify and oversee remedial works and repairs
Prepare technical reports, schedules of work, and cost estimates
Monitor contractor performance and ensure works meet required standards
Provide professional advice on building defects and property condition
Support compliance with housing and building regulations
Key Skills & Experience
Experience working as a Building Surveyor, within the public sector
Strong knowledge of damp, mould, and structural defects
Experience managing repairs and disrepair cases
Ability to produce technical reports and repair specifications
Good understanding of housing legislation and property maintenance
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Relevant qualification in Building Surveying or a related discipline (RICS or working towards desirable)
