Housing Assessment & Support Specialist
- Rate of pay: 21.26 PAYE or 27.40 Umbrella per hour

Join a dedicated team as an Housing Assessment & Support Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in managing and responding to a range of concerns, referrals, and casework. This position is ideal for someone passionate about reducing risk and achieving positive outcomes for customers, with a focus on supporting vulnerable adults in receipt of social care.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Conduct initial triage, assessments, and action planning for referrals, determining the most appropriate team and approach for case management.
- Provide support, advice, coaching, and practical assistance to colleagues in managing support cases, aiming to minimise risks and achieve positive outcomes.
- Assist in completing referrals to statutory agencies, attend multiagency meetings, and collaborate with professionals to build the skills and confidence of case owners.
- Maintain accurate and secure records of all casework, ensuring information is appropriately stored, shared, and acted upon.
- Liaise with external agencies to support effective cross-sector working and achieve positive outcomes for customers.
- Oversee support cases of varying complexity and risk, ensuring good coordination across the organisation and understanding of all risks.
- Complete ongoing risk assessments for all cases using standard and specialist assessment tools.
- Support colleagues in increasing their skills and confidence in providing customer support and managing risks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in frontline service delivery in housing, social care, or a related sector.
- Proven ability to support or coach colleagues or advise on a specialism such as hoarding support.
- Experience working with multiple agencies to coordinate support for individuals.
- Ability to handle complex, emotive, and distressing situations, supporting oneself and colleagues appropriately.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory frameworks, particularly relating to housing providers.
- Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and IT literacy.
- Empathetic, with emotional resilience and the ability to make objective decisions in challenging situations.
