A welcoming and inclusive one-form-entry primary school in Southall is seeking a proactive, reliable and organised Site Manager to oversee the day-to-day safety, security and maintenance of the school site.
This hands-on role combines caretaking, facilities management, minor repairs, statutory compliance checks and accurate record keeping. Early morning starts are essential, with occasional evenings for school events. Out-of-hours call-outs are rare and shared.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the school site is safe, secure and well-maintained.
- Carry out and record statutory checks (fire safety, emergency lighting, water hygiene, asbestos, playground).
- Open and close the site and act as a key holder.
- Complete routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Oversee contractors and ensure health & safety standards are met.
- Support cleaning standards and maintain COSHH compliance.
- Keep digital logs, records and checklists up to date.
About You
Essential:
- Experience in facilities, caretaking, site management or building maintenance.
- Good understanding of health & safety and compliance.
- Confident with digital systems and accurate record keeping.
- Practical, reliable, organised and calm.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a school.
- Training/willingness to train in fire safety, legionella, asbestos awareness, manual handling or First Aid.
Additional Information
- Combined Site Manager/Caretaker role (no separate caretaker).
- Involves daily practical duties and minor repairs.
- Split-shift currently in place, but alternative patterns are being explored.
- LGPS pension included.
- Some holiday working required when maintenance projects are scheduled.
- Occasional overtime (evenings/weekends) may be required and paid.
