Painter (Social Housing)

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Painter for a temporary assignment based in South Shields. This role involves working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, supporting maintenance and refurbishment works across residential and public sector properties.

Overview:
This is a hands-on role carrying out painting and decorating tasks, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety requirements.

Main Duties:

• Prepare surfaces including sanding, filling, and priming prior to painting
• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, and external surfaces
• Carry out work in void and occupied properties
• Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times

Essential Criteria:

• NVQ 2 in Painting & Decorating or equivalent
• Experience working within social housing or public sector environments preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Good attention to detail and commitment to high standards
• Full UK driving licence
• DBS clearance is required
