The Company

Our client is a growing and well-established main contractor based in Warrington, delivering fast-paced retail fit out projects across the UK.

With a strong pipeline of work and a high volume of incoming enquiries, the business continues to expand and works with several notable high street retail brands. As part of their growth strategy, they are looking to appoint a dedicated Estimator to streamline and strengthen their pre-construction function.

The Role

This is a newly created role due to business growth. Currently, the commercial team manages estimating from start to finish alongside their Quantity Surveying responsibilities. The company is now looking to introduce a specialist Estimator to create a more efficient, structured, and scalable pre-construction process.

The Estimator will report directly to the Managing QS and play a key role in pricing and securing new projects.

This is a full-time, office-based position in Warrington.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for retail fit out projects

• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

• Produce accurate take-offs and build-ups

• Issue and manage subcontractor and supplier enquiries

• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and level comparisons

• Assist in developing a more streamlined and structured estimating process

• Work closely with the commercial and operational teams during tender stage

• Support handover of secured projects to the delivery team

Systems & Software

• Currently using Excel for estimating

• Open to implementing specialist estimating software (e.g. Conquest or CostX) depending on candidate experience and business needs

• Opportunity to influence and shape the estimating function as the company grows

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• Experience as an Estimator within retail fit out or retail construction

• Strong understanding of fast-track project environments

• Ability to price projects independently from enquiry through to submission

• Commercially aware with strong numerical and analytical skills

• Confident working in a growing business environment

Desirable:

• Experience within high street retail fit out

• Background in general retail construction or Facilities Management (FM) considered

• Experience using estimating software such as Conquest or CostX
