PSV Mechanic/Skilled PSV Engineers

Location: Telford
Pay Rate: 20 per hour
Hours: Shift-based, 5 days out of 7 (earlies, lates and weekends)

Barker Ross Recruitment are recruiting for Skilled PSV / PCV Engineers to join a well-established passenger transport operation based in Telford. This role is suited to experienced engineers who take pride in working to high standards, maintaining vehicle safety, and delivering quality engineering.

This is a hands-on technical position offering responsibility, variety, and the opportunity to develop within a professional engineering environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are a priority.



What You'll Work On

This is a practical engineering role focused on quality workmanship and vehicle reliability. Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Servicing and repairs across a diverse PCV fleet

  • Carrying out diagnostic work using modern tools and equipment

  • MOT preparation and planned preventative maintenance

  • Completing quality checks to ensure high engineering and safety standards are maintained

  • Attending roadside breakdowns and carrying out reactive repairs

  • Working shifts across earlies, lates, and weekends (5 days out of 7)

You will be supported by an experienced engineering team and management who are committed to high standards, ongoing development, and giving engineers the space to apply their technical expertise.

What You'll Bring

  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in PSV, HGV, or Automotive Engineering

  • Ability to work independently and safely in line with set procedures

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

  • Electrical knowledge advantageous but not essential

  • PCV licence desirable (training available if required)

  • IRTEC accreditation welcomed, with training support available
