The Project Manager role has a business development element, and therefore, a commercially focussed outlook, confident and proactive team leadership skill, problem solving and adaptability in approach are essential to your success. A driving licence is also highly desirable as regular travel is expected as part of the role, both within and outside of London.
We are looking for project managers who are highly experienced in the delivery of archaeological projects at a management and consultancy level with experience in London or urban archaeology. Successful candidates will be expected to organise, manage and deliver tender bids, to procure new work and operate independently to deliver MOLAs strategic business, research and public benefit goals. In your role you will place Health and Safety at the fore and seek to contribute to continued improvement and best safe-working practices. You will manage a range of archaeological fieldwork and post-excavation projects simultaneously, whilst ensuring delivery within set timescales and budgets which you and the team have costed and commercially manage. MOLA would welcome applications from candidates who have experience of large/complex schemes and infrastructure projects.
You will be a strong and innovative multi-tasker, able to integrate with other team specialisms such as Consultancy, Community Engagement and Built Heritage into project design and delivery models. You will be a confident negotiator, able to communicate across a wide range of stakeholder interests, with a sound working knowledge of National Planning Policy Frameworks and the planning process. Maintaining quality and high standards are essential and will be delivered through your skill with review, editing and production of technical and commercial reports. Your role will also require skill with managing people and as a Line Manager, you will seek to promote the wellbeing and professional development of your Line Management team.
