Location: Loughborough
Salary: 42,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)

Barker Ross Recruitment are currently recruiting for experienced Shift Maintenance Engineers to join a well-established manufacturing and recycling operation based in Loughborough.

This is an excellent opportunity for multi-skilled engineers who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment and are passionate about maintaining plant assets to the highest standards.

The Role

As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and effective maintenance of all plant and production equipment. You will play a key role in minimising downtime, responding to breakdowns, and supporting production with engineering solutions.

The role is mechanically biased (approx. 60%) with strong electrical capability (approx. 40%).

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules
• Responding quickly and effectively to plant and production breakdowns
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures and safe systems of work
• Promoting excellent housekeeping standards and a "clean as you go" culture
• Communicating effectively during shift handovers to ensure continuity of production
• Identifying critical and day-to-day spare parts requirements
• Supporting production teams with engineering-related issues

Health & Safety

• Adhering to all site health & safety procedures and safe working practices
• Ensuring correct PPE is always used
• Reporting hazards, incidents, or safety concerns promptly

The Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience as a Shift Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environment
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
• Experience with PPM systems and breakdown maintenance
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexible and reliable with the ability to work rotating day and night shifts
