General Builder (Carpentry & Heritage Experience)

We are seeking an experienced General Builder with a strong background in carpentry and heritage restoration to join our client's specialist conservation team. This role involves working on a historic and listed building, carrying out high-quality restoration and repair works while respecting traditional construction methods.
Role Responsibilities
- Carry out carpentry and general building works on heritage and listed properties
- Repair, restore, and replicate traditional timber elements and architectural features
- Work with hardwoods, softwoods, traditional joints, and hand-finished details
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and conservation plans
- Work closely with site management, conservation officers, and other trades
- Maintain strict adherence to health & safety and heritage preservation standards
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience working on heritage or restoration projects
- Strong understanding of traditional carpentry techniques and materials
- Ability to repair or replace timber beams, frames, windows, and bespoke joinery
- High attention to detail with pride in quality workmanship
