Mobile Engineer - Plumbing Maintenance Location: London & surrounding areas Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday The Role We are recruiting for an experienced Mobile Engineer - Plumbing Maintenance to join our client's facilities management team, covering a portfolio of commercial, public sector, educational and heritage sites across London. The role will involve carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, compliance checks and minor installation works across commercial plumbing and mechanical building services. You will be responsible for maintaining domestic hot and cold-water systems, boosted water supplies and associated plant, while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant regulations and contractual requirements. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and minor plumbing installations. Diagnose and repair booster pumps, pressurisation units, expansion vessels, circulation pumps, domestic hot water systems, drainage and TMVs. Carry out water hygiene tasks, including temperature monitoring, outlet flushing, calorifier inspections and TMV fail-safe testing. Maintain accurate water hygiene and compliance records in accordance with ACoP L8 and HSG274. Complete work in accordance with RAMS, Permit to Work procedures and health & safety requirements. Complete digital service reports and close work orders using mobile/tablet-based CAFM systems. Liaise with the Helpdesk and scheduling teams to meet contractual KPIs and SLAs. Identify additional remedial works and system upgrades where required. Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment and PPE to a high standard. Communicate professionally with clients and other site personnel. Supervise or escort specialist subcontractors when required. Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota. Essential Requirements NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds equivalent in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering Services. Full UK manual driving licence with a clean or minimal points history. Proven experience in commercial facilities maintenance, building services or mobile engineering. Strong practical fault-finding and maintenance experience across commercial plumbing systems. Good working knowledge of the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations, BS 8558 and ACoP L8 / HSG274. Experience using digital CAFM systems such as Concept Evolution, Planon, Maximo or similar. Strong customer service and communication skills. Desirable Legionella Control / ACoP L8 awareness. TMV servicing and maintenance certification. IOSH Working Safely, IPAF, PASMA, Working at Height or Manual Handling. 18th Edition Electrical or basic HVAC awareness. M&E Estimator Location: Central London Hours per week: 40 hours Employment Type: Permanent Our client, an established M&E contractor delivering commercial projects up to GBP20m, is looking to appoint an experienced M&E Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders for M&E projects up to approximately GBP2m, working closely with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and internal teams. Key Responsibilities: Prepare competitive tender packages and first-principles pricing up to GBP2m. Produce detailed cost plans and preliminary costs. Carry out take-offs from drawings and specifications. Issue enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors and analyse returned quotations. Undertake site surveys where required. Work closely with the Building Estimator on joint bids. Produce clear, itemised estimates with transparent mark-ups. Support negotiations, supplier selection and tender close-out. Assist with handovers to the delivery team and identify value engineering opportunities. Manage multiple tenders and meet tight deadlines. About You: Minimum 5 years' experience as an M&E Estimator with an M&E contractor. Experience pricing commercial tenders up to approximately GBP2m. Experience using take-off and estimating software. Experience costing/measuring against NSR schedules. Strong commercial, analytical and organisational skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Knowledge of MTC, JCT and NEC contracts. HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering would be advantageous. Confident working with clients, suppliers and subcontractors. Qualifications & Technical Knowledge: A relevant Estimating or Design qualification. HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering. Knowledge of MTC, JCT and NEC forms of contract. Experience supporting contract bid submissions, including costing against specifications and NSR schedules.
