Maintenance Plumber

Darlington + 3 Local Sites (within 10-mile radius)

Full-time, Permanent £38,000 - £42,000 + Callout

We are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Plumber to join our client's team on a large, high-profile pharmaceutical site in the Darlington area. You'll be part of a stable, long-term contract supporting planned and reactive plumbing maintenance across up to three local sites (all within a 10-mile radius).

A daily pool vehicle is provided for travel between sites.

Package & Benefits

  • Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum

  • Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hrs, 1 hour unpaid lunch)

  • Callout: 1 in 4 rota
  • £150 standby payment

  • Minimum 4 hours per call, paid at x1.5 or x2

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays

  • Free onsite parking

    Role Overview

    You will carry out a range of plumbing maintenance and minor installation tasks within a controlled pharmaceutical environment. This includes first response to urgent calls, fault finding, and ensuring all plumbing services remain fully operational, safe, and compliant with regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Reactive and planned plumbing maintenance (PPM & repairs)

    • Minor installation and project works as required

    • Routine testing, inspections, and statutory compliance checks

    • Diagnose and fix faults on domestic and commercial plumbing systems

    • Ensure all work complies with current health & safety guidelines

    • Maintain accurate work records and materials usage

    • Work collaboratively with the onsite FM and engineering teams

    • Occasionally attend a nearby sister site (pool vehicle provided)

    Experience & Qualifications

    • Proven experience as a Maintenance Plumber in commercial or industrial facilities

    • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)

    • Knowledge of hot and cold-water systems, drainage, sanitary ware, and pipework

    • Strong fault-finding ability with excellent attention to detail

    • Full UK driving licence required

    • Enhanced DBS check will be required prior to start
