Overview

My client are seeking a highly experienced Account Manager to oversee a retail account within the high end sector. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and proven experience managing large-scale customer relationships. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth project delivery, expanding operations across the UK and maintaining long-term client satisfaction.

Location & Working Model

  • Based within commutable distance to Northampton

  • Hybrid working model: Office based, site visits and working from home.

  • Travel required to meet clients and oversee projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth project handover: Transition secured orders to the Project Management team, guaranteeing a seamless customer onboarding process. Transfer day-to-day relationship and delivery responsibilities while sharing expertise to help identify and maximize ongoing business opportunities.

  • Deliver accurate forecasts: Produce detailed, reliable revenue and margin forecasts in line with reporting schedules. Ensure projections are realistic, transparent, and able to withstand scrutiny.

  • Foster collaboration: Partner with internal teams to build strong, cross-functional relationships. Promote teamwork and ensure the customer's voice and experience are consistently understood and delivered.

  • Provide market insights: Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to gather and share market intelligence and competitor analysis. Support informed, strategic tendering to secure maximum profitability.

  • Drive continuous improvement: Work closely with internal departments to develop processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen overall business performance.

  • Communicate daily with Project Managers to track progress, resolve issues, and align priorities

  • Liaise with purchasing teams to ensure supply chain efficiency and timely delivery of equipment

  • Identify opportunities for account growth and support expansion into new markets

  • Maintain strong customer relationships through regular updates, meetings, and proactive engagement

Candidate Profile

  • Experience within retail, convenience and installation sector

  • Experience of new business delivery and account growth.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

  • Ability to plan, organize and maintain relationships with the customer
