An exciting opportunity has become available for a full-time Building Health & Safety Manager to lead and support health and safety strategy across the organisation. This is a key role within the organisation where you will be responsible for conducting risk assessments and audit and inspect construction sites, developing and implementing safety protocols, systems, and programmes, with a particular focus on fire, gas, electric, water safety and structural integrity, to identify potential hazards, mitigate risk and ensure compliance with evolving health and safety and other related regulations. This will also involve ensuring governance arrangements are in place and complies with legislation and organisation policy, which you will be required to update and maintain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on health and safety compliance across construction and building projects.
  • Provide expert advice on the application of CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
  • Deliver training and engage staff at all levels on safety matters.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure best practice is followed.
  • Support project delivery with a focus on safety, quality, and timelines.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in a relevant discipline.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Membership of IOSH or similar professional body.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Experience in construction or civil engineering safety.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel across Kent and work flexibly as needed.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience delivering projects to strict deadlines.
  • Strong customer relationship and networking skills.
  • Experience working in small, collaborative teams.
