Key Responsibilities
1. Advanced Installation & Fabrication:
Fabricate and install complex pipework systems from isometric drawings and P&IDs, working with materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, and exotic alloys.
Perform precise cutting, threading, grooving, and bending of pipes using manual, powered, and CNC tools.
Fit, align, and bolt up flanges, valves, strainers, and other components to exact specifications, ensuring correct gasket selection and bolt torque.
Assemble and install large prefabricated pipe spools and modules.
2. Interpretation & Planning:
Read, interpret, and implement complex isometric drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and general arrangement drawings.
Plan the sequence of work, identify potential clashes with other services (e.g., electrical, structural), and propose solutions.
3. Quality & Precision:
Ensure all work is within strict dimensional and alignment tolerances (typically 1-2mm).
Perform self-inspection of work to ensure it meets project quality standards and specifications.
Prepare pipe ends for welding to the required standard (e.g., correct bevel angles, root face, and gap).v
