Location: East Anglia (mobile role - covering 7 care homes)

Base Office: Haverhill, near Cambridge

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Van + Fuel Card + Benefits

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

A leading Passive Fire Protection contractor is seeking an experienced Carpenter / Fire Door Specialist to join their growing team on a permanent basis. This hire comes following the award of a new 5-year contract across multiple care homes in the East Anglia region.

You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out 6-monthly fire door surveys and compliance checks
  • Producing clear maintenance reports following inspections
  • Completing all required remedial and maintenance works (hinge changes, adjustments, closers, seals, etc.)
  • Undertaking fire stopping and making good works around fire doors
  • Liaising directly with clients and care home managers in a professional manner
  • Ensuring a high standard of workmanship that prioritises resident safety

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry/Joinery (essential)
  • Blue CSCS card (essential)
  • Experience in fire door inspections, surveys and remedials
  • Competence in ease & adjust works, replacing ironmongery, adjusting closers
  • Experience of fire stopping in and around fire doors
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and ability to work in a mobile role across multiple sites
  • Full UK driving licence

Salary & Package

  • £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
  • Overtime paid at elevated rate plus call out fee if required
  • Company van + fuel card provided
  • Ongoing training and development (fire door inspection & passive fire protection certifications if required)
