Job Description

Are you an experienced Drainage Gang looking for ongoing, long-term work with great rates? We're seeking skilled and reliable teams for an immediate start on a variety of exciting deep drainage projects across the Stockton-on-Tees area.

Location: Stockton-On-Tees

Rate: up to 22ph CIS

Duration: Ongoing



The Role:

We are looking for self-sufficient, experienced Drainage Gangs (3 to 4 people including a skilled Drainage Gang Leader/Groundworker, Pipe Layer, and General Groundworkers) to carry out all aspects of deep drainage and associated groundwork.

Duties:

  • Deep Excavation & Shoring: Safely dig trenches and pits, installing and dismantling trench support systems (shoring/boxes) as required.

  • Pipe Installation: Accurately lay, fit, and joint various drainage pipe materials to specified line and level (invert/gradient).

  • Structure Installation: Construct and install manholes, inspection chambers, and catch basins at correct depths and heights.

  • Testing & Backfill: Conduct preliminary testing of drainage runs and ensure compliant backfilling and compaction of trenches.

  • Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to all Health & Safety procedures, particularly concerning deep excavation and relevant site regulations.



Requirements:

  • Proven, demonstrable experience working as a complete Drainage Gang on deep drainage projects.

  • Relevant CPCS/CSCS cards are essential for all members of the gang.

  • Specific tickets (e.g., Confined Spaces, Slinger/Signaller) are highly beneficial, particularly for the Gang Leader and Pipe Layer.

  • Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working efficiently as a team.

  • Own tools and transport are preferred.
