Finishing Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Finishing Site Manager to join our team on a contract basis for a high-profile pharmaceutical project. This is a key role in delivering the final stages of a complex clean room build, ensuring exceptional quality, compliance, and attention to detail during the fit-out and handover phases.

This position is ideally suited to a candidate with a strong main contracting background and prior experience working on GMP-regulated environments, pharmaceutical, or clean room projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all internal finishing works to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality and cleanliness expected on pharma/clean room projects.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of finishing activities.
  • Manage snagging, de-snagging, and handover processes in line with client expectations and industry standards.
  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and cleanliness protocols specific to pharma environments.
  • Report progress to the Project Manager and contribute to short-term planning and issue resolution.
  • Ensure works are completed to specification, within programme and budget constraints.
  • Liaise with QA/QC teams to ensure all finishes meet GMP or equivalent standards.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience as a Finishing Site Manager on large-scale construction projects, ideally in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, or clean room sector.
  • Background with tier 1/main contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction finishing standards and expectations within controlled environments.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • CSCS card, SMSTS, and relevant H&S certifications.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: Approx. 6 months
  • Location: Sunderland
  • Rate: circa 275 - 300 per day (DOE)
  • Start: ASAP
