Senior Site / Contract Manager (M&E Focus)
Location: Bournemouth Hospital Project (Site-based)
Contract: Full time / Project Duration (with potential extension)
Reporting to: Project Director (Head Office)

About the Project

You will join a high-profile hospital redevelopment in Bournemouth, working within a well-established specialist contractor team delivering Mechanical, Electrical, and Building (MEB) services. The role bridges the site delivery teams and the senior management / head office, driving the programme to successful, on-time completion.

Role Summary

You will act as the senior on-site contract manager, overseeing the execution of the programme, coordinating with existing M&E contract managers, and liaising with the head office Project Director. You will take ownership of delivery, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and safety requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the site delivery team, including mechanical, electrical and building contractors, to execute the programme per plan
  • Act as the primary interface between the site and the Project Director / senior management
  • Drive the schedule, identify potential delays, and implement mitigation plans
  • Coordinate and manage M&E contract managers under your guidance
  • Monitor progress, financial performance, and compliance (quality, health & safety, environmental)
  • Ensure deliverables (handover, commissioning, snagging) are completed to the required standard
  • Foster a collaborative site culture with clear communications and effective stakeholder management
  • Ensure documentation, change control, site records, and reporting are maintained to a high standard

Candidate Requirements / Profile

  • Proven track record as a Senior Site or Contract Manager, ideally with a strong M&E bias
  • Experience in complex building / infrastructure projects, ideally healthcare or critical environments
  • Ability to lead multi-discipline delivery teams and coordinate multiple subcontract packages
  • Strong commercial awareness, cost control and programme management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder liaison skills
  • Fully conversant with Quality, HSQE, CDM regulations / compliance
  • Competence in risk management, change control, and dealing with site challenges
  • Degree / HNC / HND in Engineering, Building Services, Mechanical / Electrical or equivalent
  • Willingness to be based full time on site in Bournemouth
