Roofer

  • Salary: £16.10 per hour
  • Location: Huddersfield, H1
  • Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (minimum 3 months)

Our client seeks a Roofer for their in-house maintenance and repair team, providing a first-class service in the repair, maintenance, and refurbishment of local authority housing and public building stock. As a Roofer, you will travel throughout the district and surrounding areas to deliver essential roofing repairs and maintenance.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Carry out day-to-day roofing repairs and maintenance on Council property and for other external clients, adhering to contractual requirements.
  • Utilise a handheld mobile device to complete all relevant records, ensuring information is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships and communication links with both internal and external clients and customers.
  • Maintain and promote a favourable business image.
  • Ensure all relevant records, such as timesheets, are completed correctly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of built-up felt roofing/flat roofing and pitch roofing, slating, and tiling.
  • Knowledge of other building trades.
  • Apprentice trained or equivalent relevant experience.
  • NVQ Level II (or equivalent) in an appropriate trade or the ability to demonstrate the required skill set.
  • Experience working with a wide range of roofing materials.
  • Full and valid driving licence.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety, Customer Care, and Environmental issues related to the Building Trade.
  • Ability to bend, lift, climb, crawl, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Enhanced DBS and barred list check required.
