Project HSQE Engineer (Rail sector) Home/Site based – some site-based work on the Crossrail sites as well as home working. Permanent – May include some nightshifts Salary Negotiable The Client Our well-established client is a leading global integrator of communications and security solutions for businesses, industries and governments. They offer a wide range of installation, maintenance and commissioning solutions which are suitable for both Hazardous and Non-Hazardous environments. The company are looking for a HSQE Engineer to predominantly work in its busy rail sector. The Role Reporting to the senior management team, the postholder will be responsible for the maintenance business management systems and will continually audit these systems whilst ensuring that the project management plans are implemented, and contracts are audited. Other responsibilities of the role include: * Demonstrable experience of Rail Industry HSQE requirements, to join the Team on an interim freelance basis and to be based at our Head Office in Warwick. * You’ll be responsible for ensuring the existing management systems they use are maintained and for the continual auditing of these systems and existing procedures. As well as providing support to the rest of the HSQE team you’ll be required to visit sites around the UK to complete auditing of works against procedures and management plans. * Ideally you will hold a formal audit qualification and must be NEBOSH & IEMA certified and have first-hand experience of fronting RISQS audits. * Clear experience of leading risk assessments and incident investigations would be advantageous in this role. * You’ll need excellent communication skills, be confident in dealing with colleagues and clients at all levels, be able to provide mentoring and coaching when appropriate, taking charge and giving specific instructions and direction when required. * You should be able to review a situation from all perspectives and make decisions that work for all involved parties. Requirements * Ideally a NEBOSH Diploma although would consider NEBOSH Certificate * Current PTS is essential * An audit competence is also required, can be either ISO9001, ISO14001 or ISO 45001 specific * Accident/Incident investigation competence is a must have * Experience of working within the rail industry is key to the role and understanding the requirements and terminology
