Flooring/Grinding Technician

THE CLIENT
My client has over 25 years global experience in the design, construction, upgrading of industrial concrete floors and are regarded as leaders and experts in their field. Their unique range of services and products which have been researched, invented and manufactured in-house at their workshops in the UK, mean that they are able to offer the latest solutions and technologies to clients, helping them to maximise their warehouse floor efficiency. They currently have a number of roles for Trainee Flooring Technicians, working across the UK and overseas on various projects.
THE ROLE
The role will involve working with a team to repair and upgrade industrial and commercial concrete floor slabs. Duties will include operating specialist equipment and applying specialist materials to carry out floor joint repairs, floor resurfacing using cementitious and resin floor systems, in a demanding environment. A large part of the work takes place on high tolerance floors therefore an eye for attention to detail is essential.
The company will look to enhance your already developed skills by taking you through our detailed methods of working, to further develop your understanding of concrete industrial floors. Training will be provided and there is the opportunity for career progression through the various levels. Salary is also tiered and linked with this progression.
Whilst mainly operating throughout the UK we do provide support to the company’s overseas offices and international travel may be required from time to time. Part of the role will involve completing an element of administration paperwork including maintenance manuals, daily record sheets, mileage sheets and expenses. Therefore, good communication skills are essential for the role.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience of working with industrial floors - essential
* Experience of concrete floor repairs/refurbishment - essential
* Experience in grinding concrete - essential
* Experience of working with construction equipment - essential
* Willing to learn and take instruction - essential
* Full driving licence - essential
* Up to date passport and flexibility to work across UK and overseas – essential
* CSCS Card – highly desirable
* Mechanical experience - desirable
* Experience in the use of optical levelling equipment - desirable
THE REWARDS
The company will pay an initial starting salary of £25,000 - £30,000 which will rise with progression. The projects are across the UK and sometimes overseas, so the candidate will have the opportunity to travel and must be flexible. The company provides individual en-suite hotel rooms plus a meal allowance when working away from home on top of the salary. They will also provide company pension, holidays and other benefits
