An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Unit Manager to work with the site production team to deliver optimum productivity and performance at asphalt plants in London. The Unit Manager is responsible for the day to day running of the plant including; legislative compliance, health and safety compliance, ordering of materials and equipment whilst following the order process, production targets, production costing, strategic planning, cross-functional working with the commercial and technical teams, communication with both direct reports and Area Operations Manager, ensuring sufficient resource is available on site to run the site safely, efficiently and profitably. The UM is also required to travel to other sites to carry out audits, inspections, Peer Reviews and to attend meetings and seminars. We would expect the successful candidate to have previous management experience, including management of staff and contractors; a sound technical grasp of all aspects of asphalt plant operations is essential; a record of delivering excellence in safety, health and environmental standards in a similar environment. They would be working towards or hold a SHE NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
