Key Responsibilities Project Delivery Carry out excavation, concrete works, drainage, ducting, reinstatement, and general civil engineering activities. The role involves transporting, loading, unloading, and positioning steelwork, construction materials, plant, and equipment around the site while ensuring all lifting and vehicle movements are carried out safely and in accordance with project procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with steel erectors, crane teams, logistics personnel, and site management to ensure materials are delivered safely and efficiently to maintain programme deadlines. Key Responsibilities Operate a CPCS-approved telescopic handler safely and efficiently. Transport structural steel sections, connection materials, and construction equipment around the site. Load and unload deliveries from lorries and delivery vehicles. Supply steel erectors with materials and equipment in designated work areas. Assist with logistics to ensure work fronts remain fully supplied. Move pallets, stillages, tools, and other construction materials as required. Carry out pre-start inspections and daily defect checks on the telehandler. Report defects, breakdowns, or damage immediately. Refuel and maintain the cleanliness of the machine. Work in accordance with lift plans and site traffic management arrangements. Follow the instructions of banksmen, slinger/signallers, and supervisors during lifting and movement operations. Assist with general site logistics when not operating the telehandler. Maintain good housekeeping throughout work areas. Ensure exclusion zones are maintained during lifting and vehicle movements. The successful candidate will work closely with steel erectors, crane teams, logistics personnel, and site management to ensure materials are delivered safely and efficiently to maintain programme deadlines. Key Responsibilities Operate a CPCS-approved telescopic handler safely and efficiently. Transport structural steel sections, connection materials, and construction equipment around the site. Load and unload deliveries from lorries and delivery vehicles. Supply steel erectors with materials and equipment in designated work areas. Assist with logistics to ensure work fronts remain fully supplied. Move pallets, stillages, tools, and other construction materials as required. Carry out pre-start inspections and daily defect checks on the telehandler. Report defects, breakdowns, or damage immediately. Refuel and maintain the cleanliness of the machine. Work in accordance with lift plans and site traffic management arrangements. Follow the instructions of banksmen, slinger/signallers, and supervisors during lifting and movement operations. Assist with general site logistics when not operating the telehandler. Maintain good housekeeping throughout work areas. Ensure exclusion zones are maintained during lifting and vehicle movements. Stop operations immediately if unsafe conditions are identified. Health & Safety Responsibilities Comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. Follow the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2015. Operate plant in accordance with LOLER and PUWER requirements. Complete daily plant inspection records. Wear all required PPE at all times. Adhere to site traffic management plans and designated routes. Never exceed the safe working load (SWL) of the machine. Ensure loads are secure, balanced, and suitable for lifting before moving. Maintain clear communication with banksmen and slinger/signallers. Report all accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately. Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience operating telehandlers on construction or infrastructure projects. Experience supporting structural steel erection activities is highly desirable. Good understanding of site logistics and material handling. Ability to work safely in busy construction environments. Strong awareness of lifting operations and exclusion zones. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work under pressure.
