Freelance Project Manager required to join one of the UK's leading multi-billion pound civil engineering contractors on a flagship infrastructure project in the Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a major long-term scheme delivering complex water infrastructure upgrades, utilities diversions, and heavy civil engineering works as part of a high-profile programme. The Role As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe and successful delivery of multiple work packages, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You'll work closely with clients, subcontractors, and site delivery teams to drive performance across a technically challenging environment. Key Responsibilities: - Managing the delivery of water infrastructure and heavy civils packages from inception through to completion. - Coordinating complex utilities diversions, including liaison with statutory undertakers and key stakeholders. - Leading site teams to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme. - Managing subcontractors, commercial performance, and project budgets. - Producing and monitoring programmes, resource plans, and project reporting. - Ensuring compliance with contract requirements, health & safety legislation, environmental standards, and quality procedures. - Working collaboratively with engineering, commercial, planning, and client teams to overcome technical and programme challenges. Experience Required: - Proven experience as a Project Manager within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector. - Strong background delivering water infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pumping stations, treatment works, or associated assets. - Experience managing utilities diversions and coordinating multiple stakeholders. - Knowledge of heavy civils, including earthworks, reinforced concrete structures, drainage, buried structures, and associated infrastructure works. - Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. - SMSTS, CSCS, TWC and First Aid.
