Relevant Honours Degree or equivalent construction/commercial qualification. Strong understanding of the full tendering and estimating process, from initial enquiry through to final submission. Experience producing cost plans, Bills of Quantities, package enquiries and subcontractor comparisons. Commercially aware, with the ability to identify risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions. Strong understanding of subcontractor and supply-chain procurement. Methodical and detail-focused, with the ability to work effectively under tight tender deadlines. Confident working both autonomously and as part of a wider commercial and project team. Candidate Requirements To be considered for this position you must possess: A minimum of 8 years' proven experience estimating within the passive fire protection/fire stopping industry. Demonstrable experience pricing a wide range of fire stopping works including penetration sealing, compartmentation, linear gap seals, fire batt systems, mastic, wraps, collars and associated passive fire protection products. Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Approved Document B and relevant British Standards relating to passive fire protection. Excellent understanding of construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation. Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify risks and opportunities during the tender process. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
