An established UK passive fire protection contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager following the award of a significant new contract and continued investment into a newly created Facilities Management division. The successful candidate will take ownership of the operational and commercial delivery of passive fire protection contracts, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality and compliance standards. The position will be based from the company's southern regional office in Essex with responsibility for projects providing nationwide coverage. Responsibilities Take ownership of passive fire protection contracts from mobilisation through to completion Plan, programme and coordinate works to ensure successful project delivery Manage Site Supervisors, direct labour and subcontractors Monitor project budgets, programmes, productivity and commercial performance Identify project risks, variations and potential delivery issues Ensure appropriate labour and subcontractor resources are in place Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality and compliance Ensure project documentation, evidence and site records are accurately maintained Build and maintain strong relationships with clients throughout project delivery Monitor team performance and support the development of operational staff Work closely with commercial, operational and administrative teams Support customer enquiries and ensure projects are delivered profitably These responsibilities reflect the employer's emphasis on ownership of individual projects, planning, scheduling, commercial performance, SHEQ/compliance and people management. Candidate requirements Previous experience within the passive fire protection sector Experience across fire stopping/compartmentation and/or fire doors Proven experience managing the delivery of contracts or projects Strong planning, programming and organisational skills Experience managing site teams, direct labour and/or subcontractors Good commercial awareness with an understanding of budgets, variations and profitable project delivery Confident client-facing communication skills Strong understanding of health & safety, quality and compliance within passive fire Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve project issues effectively Full UK driving licence Our client specifically requires passive fire experience alongside experience of planning works, client liaison, maintaining productivity, H&S and quality standards, and profitable project delivery.
