Project Manager (Passive Fire Protection)

An established specialist contractor operating across the fire protection and building safety sector is looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to oversee passive fire protection projects across the East Midlands.

The role will focus predominantly on fire stopping and fire door works, managing projects from mobilisation through to completion while ensuring programmes, quality, health & safety and commercial performance are maintained.

Current projects are primarily based across the Nottingham to Lincoln corridor, although the successful candidate must be comfortable travelling and working away from home when required as the business continues to secure projects across the wider region.

When working away from home, accommodation is fully provided by the company, along with a food allowance.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of passive fire protection projects, working closely with site teams, clients, subcontractors and the wider management team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing fire stopping and fire door projects from commencement through to completion
• Coordinating Site Managers, supervisors, operatives and subcontractors
• Managing project programmes, ensuring works are delivered on time
• Liaising directly with clients and other project stakeholders
• Monitoring quality and ensuring works comply with relevant specifications and fire safety requirements
• Managing health & safety across projects
• Overseeing project documentation, reporting and handover
• Monitoring project progress, productivity and performance
• Identifying and resolving project issues before they impact delivery
• Attending site meetings and client meetings where required
• Supporting the wider management team with the successful delivery of multiple projects

About You

The ideal candidate will already have experience managing passive fire protection projects, with a strong understanding of either fire stopping, fire doors or both.

You could currently be working as a:

• Project Manager
• Senior Site Manager
• Site Manager looking to step into Project Management
• Contracts Manager within passive fire protection

Most importantly, you will have previous experience working on passive fire protection sites and understand the practical challenges involved in delivering fire stopping and/or fire door works.

You will also need to be comfortable travelling across the East Midlands and working away from home when projects require it.
