What this role is really about: My client needs someone who takes a confirmed order and makes sure it arrives exactly as promised, on time, in full, and with no surprises for the customer. It s hands-on, detail-driven delivery, keeping every handover joined up from Sales through to sign-off on site. The business: My client is a well-established, values-led UK manufacturer supplying furniture into commercial projects. They have their own factory, a loyal customer base and a reputation they work hard to protect. Every project carries their name, so getting delivery right genuinely matters to them. The role: You'll own a portfolio of projects from the moment Sales hands them over through to final sign-off on site. In between sit a lot of moving parts: specifications and drawings, the factory and external suppliers, supply chain, transport, site teams and the customer. Your job is to keep all of those joined up, so nothing slips through the gaps and the customer never has to pick up the phone to chase. Key responsibilities: Handling Sales handovers are complete before anything moves, and pushing back when they aren't Keeping one live plan per project, updated daily, that everyone works from Making sure orders and POs are accurate on the system: codes, finishes, dimensions, quantities Confirming material and production dates, and challenging any vague ETAs Assessing the impact of any change the same day and reissuing the plan Confirming site readiness: access, delivery windows, permits, site contacts and phasing Being on site to coordinate deliveries and installs, as the customer's main point of contact Carrying out the post-delivery survey and snagging, and turning round any missing items quickly Keeping an eye on cost and margin, including timing supplier orders so stock doesn't land weeks early Escalating early, with the issue, the impact and a recovery plan Who I think will thrive here From our experience, the people who do best in roles like this often don't have "Project Manager" on their CV. You might currently be a project coordinator, or a contracts, operations or even delivery manager maybe even an installation manager. However if you have worked in the following environments, this would also work. Furniture, fit-out, interiors, joinery, kitchens and bathrooms or manufacturing. More important than the title: You will neeed to be naturally organised Comfortable being the person who asks the key questiosn early. Someone who enjoys factfinding. You can keep on top of various touchpoints across the business including sales, suppliers and customers while keeping relationships intact Accurate with detail and you may have worked with an ERP or order processing system You're happy splitting your time between the office and customer sites (full UK driving licence) Get real satisfaction from seeing something through from start to finish Interested to hear more? If this sounds like you, or it's got you intrigued then feel free to get in touch. These kind of exciting roles do not come around often so well worth having a good look at it. Get in touch
