Site Manager
Location: West Midlands, Worcestershire, Bromsgrove
Job Type: Contract, Full-Time hours Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm
Salary: £250 - £265 per day
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to provide cover for a two-week period across various construction sites in the Brierley Hill and Redditch areas. The projects involve traditional build, new-build housing developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and manage day-to-day site operations effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards at all times.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and labour to maintain smooth progress on site.
- Monitor project schedules and resources, making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Maintain accurate site records including daily reports, site diaries, and risk assessments.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet specifications.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders professionally and promptly.
- Manage the delivery and storage of materials to reduce waste and prevent delays.
- Ensure that all site activities adhere to company policies and relevant construction regulations.
- Resolve on-site issues promptly to minimise disruption and maintain progress.
Required Qualifications and Certifications
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification.
- Valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
- First Aid qualification.
- Full, clean driving licence.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within traditional new build housing projects.
- Experience of managing multiple subcontractors and site personnel.
- A strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Knowledge and Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of construction processes and techniques specific to traditional housing developments.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practises.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with all levels of staff and external partners.
- Good organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Competence in using relevant IT systems for site management and reporting.
Working Conditions
- The role requires full-time hours on site, typically Monday to Friday.
- Work will be outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.
- The post involves physical activity including walking, standing for extended periods, and occasional lifting.
- Strict adherence to health and safety procedures is mandatory.
- Travel between sites within the West Midlands region is required.
