Facilities Manager
Gloucester / Swindon Permanent Full-Time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Manager to join a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing business operating across multiple UK sites.
This is a newly created position where you will take ownership of the company's facilities function across Gloucester and Swindon. You'll play a key role in bringing new facilities online, delivering improvement projects and establishing the standards, systems and processes needed to support continued growth.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation and long-term development of the company's UK facilities, covering:
- Managing facilities operations across Gloucester and Swindon manufacturing sites
- Delivering fit-outs, relocations, machine installations and site improvement projects
- Managing building services including HVAC, utilities, compressed air, electrical and mechanical plant
- Developing and managing PPM and statutory inspection programmes
- Ensuring sites remain compliant, safe and audit-ready
- Selecting, managing and negotiating with contractors and suppliers
- Managing facilities budgets, service contracts and project costs
- Working closely with engineering, operations, quality and leadership teams
- Reporting facilities performance and KPIs to senior management
- Establishing facilities processes and best practices as the business continues to scale
About You
We're looking for someone with proven facilities management or site operations experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
You should have:
- Experience managing facilities across a manufacturing or engineering site
- A track record of delivering fit-outs, relocations, installations or site projects
- Strong project management and contractor management skills
- Good knowledge of building services, HVAC, utilities and compressed air
- Experience with PPM and statutory compliance
- Experience managing budgets and service contracts
- A practical, hands-on approach to facilities management
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both shop-floor and senior stakeholders
- The ability to manage multiple sites and travel regularly between Gloucester and Swindon
Experience within aerospace, automotive or composites manufacturing would be advantageous, as would an IWFM or equivalent facilities qualification.
